Inside Now Media & Non Fungible Conference’s Event and Now Pass Art Exhibition in Paris

After a long and action-packed week at NFT Paris, the web3 community reconvened to close it out proper on Sunday (Feb. 25) for Now Media and Non Fungible Conference‘s NFC NOW community brunch event at IHAM Gallery.

Commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Now Pass announcement at the previous year’s conference, the gallery hosted a special exhibition of the Now Pass artwork by artist and Now Media CTO and Creative Director Aaron Baker (AKA Nostalgic).

Curated by IHAM Gallery director and Non Fungible Conference (NFC) curator Grida, the Paris showcase marked the second global showing of the Now Pass’ artwork following its interactive showcase at Gateway Korea.

Encompassing 11 distinct generative outputs from the Now Pass collection, the exhibition highlighted the artwork’s interactive elements through elegant rotations, geometric unfurling, and eye-catching glitch effects. The Now Pass artwork pays tribute to the generative art movement through its creation and evolution and channels the concept of being “the signal in the noise.”

“This showing marks a landmark moment for this collection, coming on the one year anniversary of the Now Pass reveal announcement,” said Nostalgic. “Together we will prove the restorative and healing powers of generative artwork.”

NOSTALGIC

He added: “Holding a Now Pass gets you direct access into the ecosystem of web3 product suites from me and the team at Now Media.”

During the NFC Now event, attendees were encouraged to sign up for the newly-launched Now Network — Now Media’s exclusive media hub designed to help users stay on top of everything happening in web, currently in private alpha exclusively for Now Pass holders.

Both Now Media and NFC used the event to highlight upcoming initiatives — and drop some alpha on what’s to come. Now Media Co-Founder, CEO and EIC Matt Medved and NFC Founder John Karp addressed the packed gallery space, expressing gratitude for all in attendance and revealing details on what’s next.

Medved highlighted several important milestones, such as Now Media’s third anniversary, the Now Pass’ one-year anniversary and the Now Network’s debut, before teasing forthcoming announcements and product launches. He previewed this week’s announcement that Now Media is deploying its web3 CMS Sovereignty on Coinbase’s Base to build the future of authenticated media.

“We’re helping elevate trust in media, bring web2 publishers into web3 and help them authenticate their content in the age of AI and misinformation,” said Medved.

Medved also highlighted an upcoming drop entitled “Children of the Pass,” featuring 3D artwork by Nostalgic and tying into the Now Pass’ coveted “Children” rarity trait, and a mysterious product called “Portals” that promises to change how the community uses X (formerly Twitter).

In his speech, Karp revealed that Now Pass holders would received a 95% discount on tickets to NFC’s flagship event in Lisbon from May 28-30. Karp also announced that NFC tickets would offer holders access to Memeland’s MemeCon conference being held at the same location, as well as access to a closing beach party and the Moga Festival being held from May 29-June 2 in Portugal’s Costa da Caparica.

“I don’t want to share all the alpha that we’re working on, but we have a lot of new things coming.”

“For people who are booking their flight, I recommend taking the flight back a bit later,” Karp teased to cheers from the crowd. “I don’t want to share all the alpha that we’re working on, but we have a lot of new things coming.”
