Pixelverse Launches Browser Game Pushing its Boundaries Beyond Telegram

The much anticipated MMORPG web browser game from Pixelverse, known for the popular mini-game PixelTap, has now entered closed beta. Breaking new ground, it’s the first project to integrate TON microtransactions outside the Telegram platform, opening up the massive Pixelverse community on Telegram to a much wider Web3 gaming experience.

Expanding TON Microtransactions Beyond Telegram

For the first time, TON micro-transactions are being used outside of Telegram Messenger with the Pixelverse web browser game, connecting its 10 million monthly users to a new Web3 gaming experience

Following the release of PixelTap, the game quickly ascended to become one of the most popular mini-games on Telegram, noted for its seamless integration with the TON blockchain. Last August, Pixelverse captured lots of attention when it launched the largest profile picture (PFP) NFT collection on the TON network with an eye-popping 234,000 investors. Moreover, its Bots NFT collection amassed 40,000 investors.

PixelTap’s NFTs have a variety of in-game and ecosystem benefits that include profit sharing from ecosystem revenues, access to exclusive quests, better odds at acquiring rare items, and options for character customization. In addition, with NFTs, players will gain early access to higher-tier characters to unlock tier-based rewards that have real tangible and monetary value as the ecosystem grows.

A New Web3 Gaming World

The Pixelverse browser game drops players 800 years into the future, waking up in Neopolis City, a cyberpunk metropolis rife with both dangers and opportunities. Users can explore this vast cyberpunk world, complete various quests, gather multiple items, and recover memory chips while building up wealth and influence within an open city economy. Player choice will shift not just the in-game environment but also the economy, capturing the decentralization side of Web3.

Kirill, Pixelverse’s CEO, discussed how this latest development ties into their broader vision. He said, “Many Telegram mini-game users have discovered crypto through these mini-apps in recent months, and now we’re ready to offer them a richer, more complex gaming experience outside the mobile ecosystem. Our next step is to deepen the Web3 integration, moving beyond hyper-casual games to deliver a more immersive experience.”

Closed Beta and What’s Next

The early supporters can now access the closed beta, which invites them into the game’s universe, try out its mechanics, and give their verdict on how well it works. The creators see this as a critical step in pushing the game toward its full public debut, set for the fourth quarter of 2024.

With over 13 million followers on social media and over 2 million subscribers on YouTube, Pixelverse continues to dive deep into the growth space of Web3 Gaming. The closed beta is the latest step in that journey, promising some exciting developments for their players and community.
