Don’t get us wrong — the merrier, the more people onboarded into the space. But because of the constant influx of great art and ideas, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with all the news, launches, and general happenings.
Well, you can put the days of endless Twitter and Discord scrolling behind you as we pull together a weekly list of upcoming NFT drops you don’t want to miss. Here’s what to look out for this week.
Sovrn x Inscribing Atlantis: CENTS
Who: Indie drop house Sovrn is teaming up with the art-focused Inscribing Atlantis (with technical help from Gamma) for Sovrn’s first Ordinals drop.
What: 10,000 cents—high-definition scans of US pennies—inscribed on 10,000 sats, then smelted into a solid copper cube. The cost for each cent is one satoshi plus transaction fees, which are generally around .001 BTC during busy times.
Where: Gamma.
When: 12-6 pm ET, Mar. 25 for allowlist, with the public mint following straight after.
Why: @ChainLeftist wrote these beautiful words about the project: “As the physical penny is starting to lose its primary role of currency due to seemingly ever-increasing inflation, it’s shown to have value as a physical material or as a historical artifact. I always found this specific aspect of ordinals interesting: Ordinal theory essentially theorizes that through social consensus there can be additional value to individual sats beyond their exchange value. We were talking about sat hunting in mid-2022 and how some early coins could be interesting to some collectors. Inscriptions further enhanced the value of individual sats by inscribing art on them. So I find it quite meaningful to inscribe pennies/cents on individual sats, closing the loop on the concept of value in Bitcoin. Charging the penny-equivalent sat for each piece is obviously intentional as well, which completes the framework.”

Who: Margaret Murphy is one of the most original and intriguing AI artists in the space.
What: Her latest collection, Los Angelizing, captures the spirit of LA. 25 artworks, blind mint, 24-hour ranked auction at verseworks, curated by tender.art.
Where: Verseworks.
When: The auction opens at 2 pm ET on Monday, Mar. 25.
Why: When people are looking back to these heady, experimental days of AI art, the lovely work of Margaret Murphy will be on the notable list.
Nyla Collection—Lady V

Who: Teen artist Nyla Hayes, creator of Long Neckie Ladies, joined Web3 in 2021. She’s received many accolades, including being TIMEPieces Artist in Residence.
What: 348 hand-drawn artworks on Bitcoin, .005 BTC each.
Where: Magic Eden.
When: Tuesday, Mar. 26, with allowlist at 12 pm ET and public sale opening one hour later.
Why: Nyla’s art has always been something special, instantly recognizable even as it evolved over time. As Nyla has gotten older, she has grown in experience and talent—and her work is still unmistakably her own.
Chikai: ANTHROCINEMATICA
Who: Chikai, formerly co-creator of Google Earth, is an artist who works with AI, particularly in the realm of portraiture.
What: In partnership with BrainDrops, Chikai is dropping 500 pieces at .1 each in a blind mint.
Where: BrainDrops.
When: Friday, Mar. 29, 1 pm ET.
Why: “ANTHROCINEMATICA is an AI video collection composed of 500 perfect loop sequences,” Chikai told us. “Each sequence zooms in on a single photo from a wall of photos in one of thirteen rooms, where each room is located in one of five different countries (Ethiopia, Finland, India, US, Japan). In addition, each room has two dimensions, one where the wall of photos is of people and places in Japan, and the other is of people and places in the US. This all forms an imperfect yet idealistic microcosm of human life both on a global scale but also a personal one as the duality of each room reflects my Japanese heritage, as a son of immigrant parents and having been born and raised in the US,” he said.

Who: Custom Horror is a creator of weird, unsettling, yet delightful characters. His collectors include XCOPY and Fvckrender.
What: Low-priced editions of a few bucks on Base. Collect all 12, and you’ll get a collector’s edition airdropped!

Why: These vulgar bunnies crack us up. In a world full of awfulness wherever one looks, this collection cheers us up immensely. They’re winsomely ugly and cost less than a pint of beer. Get some!
